EABIS is pleased to invite you to participate in the research workshop designed and convened by the INSEAD Business in Society Centre, as part of the CSR Platform Project with the support of the European Commission. The event is scheduled to take place on May 21, 2007 in the Fontainebleau Campus of the INSEAD Business School in France.

    Workshop Focus

The objective of the workshop is to convene a small, carefully selected group of academics and reflective practitioners from business and other stakeholder groups to share their work and thinking on the link between corporate responsibility and corporate strategy. It is intended to provide new insights into the dynamic relationship between the two, to highlight key challenges from the academic and practitioner perspectives, and to examine the state of theory and methodology that currently inform management practice and education.

Through a combination of inputs from leading thinkers and practitioners working on the intersection between corporate strategy and corporate responsibility, the agenda will address some key questions including:

     • How does social responsibility theory and practice inform (if at all) the content and process of corporate strategy, as we know it today?

    • How could/should the debate on the role of business in society inform the development of a strategic management theory based on the explicit consideration and integration of the social responsibilities of companies?

    • Does the adaptation of strategic management theory require a marginal adjustment to the current thinking and practice, or a more radical re-design of our models and processes?

The agenda will leave open space for plenary as well as small group interactions, since the assumption is that the link between the development of corporate strategy and the role of business in society is at present far from being fully articulated and that it will only emerge through effective dialogue among experienced scholars and reflective practitioners.

    Submission - Registration Details

The workshop will have a limited number of participants to allow for an effective dialogue, for that reason priority for attendance will be given to those who have related work or ideas to contribute to the dialogue.

For further information on the event and details for the submission & registration process, please visit the INSEAD Event website
