Request For Input, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines Public Review
The Global Reporting Initiative [GRI] has been revising their
guidelines and have asked for public comments. GRI's Sustainability Reporting
Guidelines were last released in 2002. Over the years hundreds
of organizations have used the Guidelines as the basis for their
reporting. Based on feedback from
practitioners from reporting organizations and from report user
groups, GRI designed a process to update and improve the 2002
Guidelines. The result will be the third generation of GRI Guidelines,
known as G3. The draft G3 Guidelines are the result of nearly a
year's worth of research, development, and consensus-seeking by
multi-stakeholder working groups, each assigned to focus on different
parts of the Guidelines.
The G3 Guidelines are
available from
2 January- 31 March 2006 in draft form for the
purposes of eliciting comments from the public on how they are shaping
up.
